Living in a small studio apartment means every little nook and cranny counts, so I made this custom built in to maximize storage and create a more cohesive look in the bedroom. The design is multi-functional: I integrated a wardrobe with hanging space and a lower shelf, added three cubbies above the bed, and built out a custom headboard that doubles as a nightstand.

Everything was built from plywood and painted to match the walls so it would feel like a natural part of the room. The biggest challenge, however, was scribing the unit to the uneven walls. Getting a perfect, flush fit on an imperfect wall required a lot of patience and precision, but it was a rewarding challenge. Seeing the final install come together so seamlessly makes all that extra work worth it.
